A used Audio-20 with NTG5*1 which has had CarPlay installed does not have CarPlay enabled after you have done standard Initial Start-up with Xentry.
This is how to “reset” it before installation, but also can be used to enable CarPlay after installation. However with latest firmware you will have to use method 2 or Method 3 to enable CarPlay. Method 3 is the best thing to do, Method 1 is quick if the unit is running old firmware.
Method 1 : Disable AA/CarPlay before Initial Startup in new car (so Xentry enables it, assuming its on datacard), or enable AA/CarPlay on earlier firmware
- Ignition off (or you get anti-theft), plug in and turn on.
- Enter engineering mode by holding down Phone-Hangup, 1, # keys for about 6 seconds
- If this doesn’t work then do a factory reset from the System menu and try again
- Using the rotary controller (you’ll have to rotate to go up down, and push to the right to access the right side of menus or individual screens if they have two columns, and left to go back
- Navigate to the System -> Logging then click on ‘Enable Log Marks’ at the bottom of that menu
- Press left in the controller a few times to return to the initial screen
- Navigate down to Variant Coding, and then select ‘Page 2’
- If disabling CarPlay/AA turn off the following, if you are enabling it, make turn them on instead. (a) in RUI Settings enable Remote UI and Mirror Link Over NCM. (b) in Remote UI Applications turn on all 3 settings
- Go down the page and press on the ‘Set Page’ – you will see a brief popup saying its being saved.
- Go back to where you ‘Enable Log Marks’, and press again to Disable them
- Exit by powering off, lock car and let go to sleep OR power cycle the unit

Method 2 : Latest firmware, how to enable CarPlay where you can’t update the datacard for some reason
- Connect to OBD2 using red ethernet->OBD2,
- Run Monaco, and use the HU5S1 coding set (from RPA coding files on desktop)
- -> Select “Coding: tab along top right
- Hit Connect button
- -> Save coding (near top right) – give filename and let it save
- Exit Monaco and disconnect cable from OBD2 socket – so HU goes out of DIAG mode.
- Go to HU
- Hangup, 3 and * (enters Maker Diag screen)
- Goto “Version Information” and then do “Shipment Mode” (big yellow box)
- ** Wait 1 minute **
- Hold down ON button til reset done, then HU turns on (it will have factory default coding now, so wont work that well)
- Connect Monaco machine back up
- Connect, and select Diagnostic Services tab at top
- Go into Session
- Do extended start
- Do supplier start
- Go to Coding Tab at top
- Press Connect
- Load coding file and select it in drop down box below
- Turn on Remote UI, CarPlay & AA
- Hit “Do coding” (at bottom) – will code the whole unit
- Go back to Diagnostic Services tab, “ECU Reset: menu” and do hard reset
- You’ll get the Setup screen, skip it and press Tel button twice and you’ll see it up there
Method 3 : Preferred Method
- Update Datacard
- Virginise Unit
- Hangup, 3 and * (enters Maker Diag screen)
- Goto “Version Information” and then do “Shipment Mode” (big yellow box)
- ** Wait 1 minute **
- Hold down ON button til reset done, then HU turns on (it will have factory default coding now, so wont work that well)
- Connect Xentry
- Firmware update Head Unit, and SCN code
- Test, if CarPlay doesn’t appear, SCN code head unit again
